John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour

So, I’m going to be completely honest in this post. My hair started going grey when I was only 19. I guess it’s genetic because my mom also started going grey pretty young. So, for years now, I’ve been religiously dying my hair once a month (or every five weeks). I just don’t want to be 25 with streaks of white in my hair. I’ve experimented with lots of different dyes over the years, but for the past two years, my go-to has been the John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour in the shade Dark Cool Espresso Brown.

This product can be purchased from Target or similar stores for about $12. It is truly the easiest hair dye I’ve ever used. It is a foam, which makes it so easy to saturate your hair. The foam can seep into the little nooks and crannies where strands of hair hide, so it really delivers a very even color. It’s almost foolproof! Plus, the foam is thick enough that it does not drip and create a mess everywhere.

The color is very dark and compliments my cool skin tone, but it still has enough dimension to prevent the hair from looking too lifeless or monochromatic. I leave it on a few extra minutes, and it always covers all of my pesky grey hairs. It also comes with a generous amount of conditioner that provides a very deep conditioning treatment, and there’s definitely enough to use it about weekly. By the time you run out, you’re probably ready to dye your hair again anyway.

I will say that this does use a lot of chemicals, so it may leave your hair feeling heavy if you use it too frequently. Still, it is well worth the cost because it really does deliver excellent results and is super easy to use. I would absolutely recommend this product to both beginners as well as hair experts. Finally, the smell isn’t too bad, and it has never caused me to have any skin or eye irritation.

Have you tried this product? What is your go-to hair dye? Please, let me know in the comments section.

Thanks for reading!
