Blogmas Day 17: Sephora Nail Polish

Welcome to Blogmas Day 17! Today’s little goodie is pretty cute: a tiny bottle of nail polish. I love this wine shade, but unfortunately it isn’t on their website.

The nail polish is really nice. It’s very opaque and one coat goes a long way. It also dried pretty quickly which is always a plus. Overall, I like the nail polish and I bet I can get at least 3 or 4 pedicures out of the bottle even though it’s small.

Blogmas Day 16: Fox Sticky Notes

It’s day 16 of Blogmas! Today’s advent calendar panel revealed this tiny fox sticky note pad.

It’s pretty cute but it’s also really small. Like, I might be able to write three or four words on a sticky note. Still, I can use them for bookmarks, so I’ll still get some use out of them!

Blogmas Day 15: Lotus Sleeping Mask

It’s Day 15 of Blogmas! Thanks for sticking with me for over two weeks now. I was expecting these blogs to be a bit more exciting, but unfortunately a lot of the little goodies have been pretty underwhelming. Today, however, I got a really good one! It’s the Sephora Lotus Sleeping Mask which can be purchased in a single-use pod for $4.

I love overnight masks because they are gentle but powerful. With this mask, you place a large layer on your face. After a while, it dries down, but you’ll want to still avoid washing your face again until the next morning so that it can continue working. This one works really well, and $4 is a lot cheaper than many sheet masks, so I think that the price is pretty good too. There is enough in this container to probably last two nights, but there’s no way to seal the package up again. Apply a thick layer. It feels really slimy at first because it has a gel texture, but it definitely dries down within 20 minutes or so. The next morning, my skin felt really smooth, soft, and moisturized. Also, I don’t see any new breakouts which is good. Overall, I really like this mask and I think I’ll pick up some more in the future.

Blogmas Day 14: Fox Stickers

It’s day 14 of Blogmas! Today’s advent calendar prize was a bit of a bummer. I got 4 little fox stickers.

They’re kind of cute, but they were also folded strangely. I’m not really sure what to do with them, but I guess I could take them to work. I make desk schedules and sometimes I decorate them with stickers, so I guess I can use them there.

Blogmas Day 13: Nail File

Welcome to the 13th day of Blogmas! We are more than halfway through Blogmas now and Christmas feels just around the corner. Today’s advent calendar goodie is a tiny nail file.

I actually really liked this nail file. It’s a little larger than my thumb and will fit easily in any purse. I think that nail files are really helpful to have on the go because you never know when you’re going to break a nail. I hate when my nail tears and it leaves a weird jagged edge that keeps snagging on everything for the rest of the day. It’s much easier to have a small nail file with you to take care of the problem right away.

Blogmas Day 12: The Christmas Caper

Welcome to Day 12 of Blogmas! We have a bit of a mystery today. I opened today’s advent calendar panel and discovered that it was…empty!

That’s right! Day 12 was just an empty hole where it appears a full sized eyeshadow could have fit. I feel a bit cheated, but it is also kind of funny as I imagine a makeup-loving grinch absconding with my little gift. Oh well! I do think that this advent calendar is a great idea, but it has been a bit underwhelming. Maybe next year I’ll get the one from L’Occitane.

Blogmas Day 11: Lip Liner to Go

Welcome to Day 11 of Blogmas! I can’t believe that Christmas is only two weeks away! Today’s advent calendar panel finally revealed something that  US Sephora users can buy too: the Sephora Lip Liner to Go. These tiny, portable lip liners can be purchased for $6.

I’ll admit that I don’t typically use or like lip liners, but I’m glad that I have this one now. I think that red is the one color that often requires lip liner because it bleeds more than other colors in my experience. So, I’m glad this one is red! Also, it works really well. It’s easy to apply and lasts a very long time. I would prefer if it was just a bit creamier, but this is still a pretty good one at a very convenient size!

Blogmas Day 10: Express Eye Makeup Remover Wipes

It’s day 10 of Blogmas! Today’s gift is another Sephora Australia exclusive: the Sephora Express Eye Makeup Remover Wipes. These can be purchased for $8 for a box of 20 individually wrapped wipes.

As far as makeup removers go, this one is okay. The wipes are very effective at removing eye makeup. However, I didn’t love the texture of the wipes. They are just a bit abrasive, which concerns me since they’re for use around the delicate eye area. I would say that the price and texture make this product not worth it. There are plenty of just as effective wipes that are gentler and cheaper (like the Neutrogena wipes!)

Blogmas Day 9: Peony Body Wash

Welcome to Day 9 of Blogmas! Today’s little treasure is another Sephora Australia exclusive (this has definitely been the theme of this advent calendar which confuses me because I’m in North America – so why try to get me excited about products I can’t even purchase?) Anyway, today’s gift was the Sephora Creamy Body Wash in Peony. This can be purchased for $10 if you live in Australia.

I’m actually super bummed that I can’t buy this at my local Sephora or online for the USA because it smelled amazing. It was floral but light and I just really liked it. The texture of the body wash was also great. As the name states, it is definitely creamy. It also lathers really well. If you have the opportunity to get this one, you really should!

Blogmas Day 8: Bamboo Manicure Sticks

Its’ Day 8 of Blogmas! Today’s goodie from my Sephora advent calendar was this collection of bamboo manicure sticks. Now, I couldn’t actually find these on the Sephora website, but these are something that you can get at pretty much any drugstore anyway.

Bamboo manicure sticks are super helpful if you do your own manicures. The tips are shaped perfectly for removing excess polish from your cuticles and from around the tip or under  your fingernail. These are really the easiest way to make your manicure look perfect. I know it is tempting to use one of your other nails to scrape off wet nail polish that gets on your cuticle, but more often than not you’ll just end up hurting the polish on that nail too and then you have two messed up nails instead of one. These bamboo sticks are super precise and let you clean up a messy manicure without using the nails themselves.
