I’ll admit that I still feel like a fledgling when it comes to hair styling. I think mostly I’m just lazy when it comes to my hair. I don’t know why I’m so willing to spend lots of time and energy on makeup but then I don’t put a lot of effort in my hair. I think part of this is because some of my friends made fun of my hair when I was in junior high and high school. They said it always looked messy and unkempt. This hurt my feelings and spurned me into obsessively straightening it every single day throughout school (which, as expected, eventually left it fried and frizzy). Since high school, I’ve just given up on it. I don’t want it to be fried and frizzy but everything else I try seems to still make it look boring and messy. Anyway, that was a long introduction, but I just wanted to be honest about my insecurities when it comes to hair. Recently, I was given a sample of the Verb Sea Spray, which is a texturizing spray that can be purchased from Sephora for $16.
As I’ve mentioned, I’m no expert when it comes to hair, but I just couldn’t get this to work for me. It did not give me beachy waves at all. In fact, I couldn’t notice any difference in texture at all with this one. I tried applying it on both wet hair and dry hair. I’ve tried scrunching the hair with my fingers after application too, and nothing happened. To make matters worse, I thought this product smelled awful. It smells overly salty but also kind of like musky old lady perfume. The smell does fade after an hour or so, but I just hated it.
Overall, I would not recommend this product because it didn’t do anything for me besides leaving an unpleasant odor.
Have you tried a texturizing spray that really worked? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
