Blogmas Day 9: Peony Body Wash

Welcome to Day 9 of Blogmas! Today’s little treasure is another Sephora Australia exclusive (this has definitely been the theme of this advent calendar which confuses me because I’m in North America – so why try to get me excited about products I can’t even purchase?) Anyway, today’s gift was the Sephora Creamy Body Wash in Peony. This can be purchased for $10 if you live in Australia.

I’m actually super bummed that I can’t buy this at my local Sephora or online for the USA because it smelled amazing. It was floral but light and I just really liked it. The texture of the body wash was also great. As the name states, it is definitely creamy. It also lathers really well. If you have the opportunity to get this one, you really should!

Blogmas Day 6: Fizzy Cube

Welcome to Day 6 of Blogmas! Today’s goodie from my Sephora advent calendar is another one that seems to be available only in Australia: the Sephora Fizzing Cube. One fizzing cube can be purchased for only $2.

This fizzing cube was scented like cotton flower, which is a very light and clean scent. I actually really liked the scent, although it kind of smelled like fresh laundry and baby powder, which isn’t something I think I would have chosen for myself. Still, I really enjoyed the bath experience with this fizzing cube. It was a small cube but it was scented strongly enough that I could actually still smell it after it fizzed away. It also was strong enough to completely change the bath water into a nice milky white. I think this is a neat idea and $2 is a lot less than the average bath bomb, so I think the price also works. I really hope they bring these over to the USA.

Jingle Bomb Bath Fizzer

Bath bombs are a fun way to jazz up a bath! They usually saturate your tub with fragrant, colorful, sometimes fizzy water. They’re a fun alternative to bubbles and there are some great bath bombs for any price level. I recently tried the Jingle Bomb Bath Fizzer from Da Bomb which can be purchased from Target for $5.

This is a one-time-use type of product, so keep in mind that the $5 will only be for one bath. Still, this definitely puts this bath bomb in the medium price range (there are some other bath bombs you can get at Target and drugstores for about $1-2 per bath bomb but there are also $10-15 bath bombs from places like Lush).

I love that this one is holiday themed. I’m the type of person who celebrates Christmas for all of November and December because I love it so much and I want as much Christmas as I can get! This bath bomb definitely promotes the holiday spirit with its winterberry scent. I’ll be honest – I thought winterberry was something that they made up, but it’s actually a type of holly also known as Ilex Verticillata (and that it definitely what it smells like – holly + a Christmas tree!) The fragrance was so lovely, and it was strong enough that I could smell it easily during the entire bath without it feeling overwhelming.

The bath bomb also made the water in the tub a beautiful shade of evergreen, which I really liked. However, it did not stain the tub afterwards, which was a big plus because I’ve used other bath bombs that left a gross residue in the bathtub! Some bath bombs also tend to dry out or irritate the skin, but that was not the case with this one. After the bath, my skin didn’t feel dry at all and felt a bit more  moisturized actually, so I’m guessing there’s some sort of oil in the bath bomb. Also, it’s gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, and vegan (so it’s a nice, gentle product on skin).

Finally, Da Bomb bath bombs always advertise “a surprise inside” which I think is so fun! So, as the bath bomb fizzed and got smaller, it revealed this cute little festive charm:

I haven’t used any other bath bombs from Da Bomb, but I definitely plan to in the future because this was such a fun, relaxing experience. I can’t wait to see what other surprises I get in the other bath bombs! This is one product that I highly recommend!

Have you tried any bath bombs that you absolutely love? Let me know in the comments section!

I can’t believe this is the last day of November. That means that Blogmas starts tomorrow, so stay tuned for 24 days of blogging about my Sephora advent calendar (plus, a bonus post because I’m going to my very first FASHION SHOW tomorrow!)

Fizz & Bubble Truffles

Last week, I blogged about the Fizz & Bubble Bath Milkshake, which is a great economical choice, but this week, I wanted to share another more luxurious option from the company: Fizz & Bubble Truffles.

The nine pack of truffles is only $20, which is still pretty good for a fun bath product. Plus, just look how cute they are! This is the perfect sample pack as well because it has nine of Fizz & Bubbles scents. If you like one (or more) of them, Fizz & Bubble has whole ranges devoted to most of the scents which includes shower gels, bath cupcakes, and large bath fizzies.

You’ll want to put just one in each bath. They are certainly large enough for a bath, although they are smaller in comparison to other bath bomb products on the market (but this is, after all, a sample pack). The scents are great. They are strong enough to make the bath smell nice without feeling overpowering.

As with most bath products, however, I did not find that they had any moisturization value, despite marketing claims. You’ll definitely still need to follow up your bath with a nice lotion. Still, I think these are a really fun product, and they would make a lovely gift as well because of the packaging!

Fizz & Bubble Milkshake

Chilly winters make me want to take long, warm baths. I know that baths can further dry out the skin, but there’s just something so soothing about them that I can’t resist! Recently, I made a trip to Ulta and I found this fun gem: Fizz & Bubble Bath Fizz Milkshake.

Bath bombs can be incredibly expensive (I’m looking at you, LUSH!) so these are a great alternative. This adorably packaged container contains a fun sponge plus 12 small bath fizzes. I picked the scent Lavender Fields, but there are five scents to choose from (and they all smelled delicious in the store). I tried a bath with just one bath fizz, and it was fine for a quick bath. However, you might want to toss two in the tub if you’re having a longer soak. Still, $15 for 12 bath fizzes is a pretty good deal considering that many single-use bath fizzes are $5-15 a piece.

While this product smelled great and was just what I was looking for, I will add that it didn’t really do anything for my skin. While the product description claims that these are ultra-moisturizing, I definitely didn’t see any of these in regards to my skin. Still, I really liked these, especially because of the price. I love baths but I don’t have a very long attention span, so I can’t stay in the tub long enough to make a $10 bath bomb worth my time. I do, however, feel okay with one that is under $2.
