Boscia Luminizing Pink Mask

Boscia is known for their luminizing black mask that can be peeled-off, but now they have a limited edition Boscia Luminizing Pink Mask. That’s right – this iconic mask now comes in pink!! It retails at Sephora for $34 (although it’s currently on sale for $22!)

This mask performs the same way as the black version. It dries down and enables you to peel it off when you’re ready. It can sting a bit when you rip it off, but the results are so worth it! While I wouldn’t say that my skin looks “luminized” afterwards, I have noticed that my acne responds so well to this product. When I have a zit, I use this mask as a spot treatment, and it always looks noticeably reduced the next day.

Charcoal is the ingredient in this mask that really packs a powerful punch. It cleanses and deep-cleans your pores and will definitely help acne-prone skin. I have noticed that when I use it as an all-over mask instead of just a spot-treatment, my skin is much smoother too. This is the superhero of masks!

Have you tried this one or do you have a favorite mask for acne-prone skin? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding

I am such a sucker for a face mask! There’s something so luxurious about them, and I love seeing instant skincare benefits. I feel like a broken record because I’m always saying this, but it’s just true. Recently, I was able to try the Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment. This product can be purchased from Sephora for $38.

Charcoal is great for acne-prone skin like mine, and I’ve definitely seen results with this product. It combines both black and white charcoal and ends up looking grey on the skin. I let it dry for about 30 minutes before washing it off. It washes off really easily, which is nice because so many masks are hard to remove. I’ve noticed that this definitely makes my skin look clearer the next day. It doesn’t make my acne completely disappear and I don’t think it shortens the duration of a breakout, but it does make my skin feel nice overall. I can see the rest of my skin look clearer and my skin as a whole feels smoother after using this product. It also doesn’t seem to dry me out. I’ve used this mask multiple days in a row and it hasn’t made my skin seem dry or damaged at all. I definitely plan on purchasing the full size version of this product when I’ve used this deluxe sample all up.

What are some of your favorite face masks?

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

Masks are my absolute favorite skincare product! There’s just something so interesting and luxurious about them! I plan to review many, many, many masks on this website, but I wanted to start with one that it is an absolute staple in my bathroom: the Luminizing Black Mask from Boscia. This mask is available from Sephora for $34 for 2.8 oz (at least 10 applications).

I’m almost out!

This mask is one that peels off rather than washes off. It is best to apply a very generous layer and then wait at least 30 minutes before peeling if off. If you don’t apply enough of the product, it will be very difficult to peel and you’ll have to try to wash it off instead, which is very difficult – when this happened to me, I had to use my Clarisonic to get it all off.

So, should you buy it?

Pros: This product has been great with my acne. My skin always looks clearer the day after I use this mask. Sometimes, I use this as a spot treatment at night, and my blemishes absolutely look better afterwards. This product includes charcoal which is a great ingredient for acne-prone skin.

Cons: This isn’t the easiest product to apply and remove (see the application explanation I gave above). Also, when you peel off the mask, it has a tendency to hurt a little bit. As a rule, skin is pretty gentle and prone to damage which is why the sensations of tearing or burning are not great in large doses, so I do worry about what might happen if I used this product more than weekly or every other week.

Overall, I think this is a great mask, especially if you have acne-prone skin. However, if you have extremely sensitive skin, the tearing sensation as you peel off the mask may just be a bit much and may cause irritation.
