Tonymoly Hydrating Lotus Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are a fun way to relax at the end of a hard day. They provide lots of skincare benefits, but they tend to be very gentle on the skin. Recently, I tried this adorable Pokemon-themed sheet mask: the Tonymoly Lotus Hydrating Sheet Mask. You can get this sheet mask for about $5 at Walmart and similar retailers.

First off, I really liked this sheet mask because it actually made my skin feel incredibly moisturized. It had a very soothing quality and left my skin looking more supple and feeling more hydrated. Anyone with dry skin will definitely love this one!

There were two drawbacks though. First, it was kind of hard to unfold this mask and apply it because it was so slippery and wet. Secondly, also in relation to the wetness, I found that this mask dripped a lot which is not something I’m used to with sheet masks. I didn’t mind that it dripped from my chin to my chest, but it was irritating how it dripped in my nose area. I felt like I was inhaling it, and I kept trying to brush it away from this area. I’m not sure why there was so much product saturating this mask. I haven’t noticed this in other Tonymoly masks that I’ve used.

Have you used this one? What’s your favorite sheet mask? Please, let me know in the comment section!

Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask

I feel like I take pretty good care of the skin underneath my eyes. I’ve been using undereye cream since I was 16, and I try to be very gentle with the skin around that area. Still, I was excited when I received the Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask which comes with two fiber patches to place underneath the eyes in order to relax and refresh the skin. This one-time use mask can be purchased from Sephora for $5.

I was surprised at how easy this product was to use. I was afraid that the small fiber patches would slide around or fall off, but they really stayed in place. I was able to move about and sit up and watch TV with these patches underneath my eyes. After about 20 minutes, I decided to remove them. I rubbed the excess product into the skin. I can’t say that anything dramatic seemed to happen for my skin. It maybe seemed a bit more moisturized but no brighter than before. I don’t tend to have puffy undereyes, but I could see how this formula would be able to help with that.

Overall, this was a fun little product because it felt luxurious to have a specific mask for under the eyes. Still, I don’t think it really did anything, so I’m not sure I can recommend it as anything other than a novelty.

Have you tried an undereye mask? What did you think?

Sephora Lotus Face Mask

It’s time for another mask review! While I prefer thicker masks that you apply like a paste,  I’ve been  enjoying a lot of sheet masks too. Recently I tried the Sephora Collection Lotus Mask. This can be purchased from Sephora for $6.

The skincare benefits of this mask are supposed to be added moisture and a soothing quality. I would say that this was true but just moderately. Overall, after thirty minutes of using this sheet mask, my skin wasn’t irritated and might have been a little bit more moisturized, but the effects were not dramatic. Still, for $6, it was an okay mask that did smell really nice. It’s in the more affordable range for sheet masks, and it would be a nice addition to an at-home spa day. I don’t think I’ll repurchase this one because there are better sheet masks out there.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

It’s time for another mask review! I absolutely adore face masks because they provide the fastest most potent skincare results, and they feel luxurious. This week, I’m reviewing the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. This mask can be purchased from Sephora for $58 per 1 oz container.

I was nervous to try this mask because anything that says “resurfacing” has the potential of being really harsh on the skin (for example, the terrible chemical peel experience from last week). However, this was incredibly gentle on the skin and did not cause any irritation. The product has a jelly-like texture and is a mostly clear with a tint of brown. I slathered on a thin layer and waited for about thirty minutes before washing it off. Were the results earth shattering? No, but I did wake up with clearer skin the next morning. And after using it for several days in a row, my skin did feel smoother too. Overall, I’m disappointed in the price of the product because $58 is pretty steep for 1 oz of face mask cream, but I am pleased with the results. If you can afford it comfortably, then I think it’s probably worth it. I should also mention that 100% of this product is made from all-natural ingredients and it is completely vegan as well with no artificial colors or fragrances. It’s always great to find a natural product that really works.

Have you tried a face mask that has excited you lately? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Roloxin Lift Masque

I recently received a sample of a really iconic face mask, and I couldn’t wait to try it. It was the Roloxin Lift Instant Wrinkle Smoothing Mask from Dermarche Labs. You can get five single-use masks from Sephora for $45. I’ve seen other beauty bloggers rave about this one, so I was so excited to try it. However, I do have one disclaimer: I’m only 25 and more concerned with acne than wrinkles at this point, so I’m not actually the target demographic for this mask.

This was one of the most interesting mask experiences that I’ve ever had. First, the texture was weird but in a good way. It’s a very light gel-like consistency that dries down to a powder on your face. It also deliberately leaves a filmy residue on your face that is supposed to make skin look awesome, smooth, and wrinkle-free for about 24 hours.

I can definitely see why people use these on the days that they have special occasions. The mask did exactly what it said it was supposed to do. It created this super smooth barrier on top of my skin. My skin is not yet wrinkly or saggy, but it still felt way tighter after this mask. I had hoped that it would fill up my acne scars, and unfortunately it didn’t quite, but it still gave me mostly baby soft skin. After using this mask, it was so easy to put on my makeup. I would say that the effects even lasted closer to 48 hours than 24 because my skin looked super smooth the next day as well.

These masks are not cheap compared to other face masks, but they are really cheap compared to a face lift or botox. I definitely think you should give it a try if you have a special event coming up. I’m glad I have a second one on standby because my best friend is getting married soon and this is going to make my makeup look amazing that day!

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding

I am such a sucker for a face mask! There’s something so luxurious about them, and I love seeing instant skincare benefits. I feel like a broken record because I’m always saying this, but it’s just true. Recently, I was able to try the Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment. This product can be purchased from Sephora for $38.

Charcoal is great for acne-prone skin like mine, and I’ve definitely seen results with this product. It combines both black and white charcoal and ends up looking grey on the skin. I let it dry for about 30 minutes before washing it off. It washes off really easily, which is nice because so many masks are hard to remove. I’ve noticed that this definitely makes my skin look clearer the next day. It doesn’t make my acne completely disappear and I don’t think it shortens the duration of a breakout, but it does make my skin feel nice overall. I can see the rest of my skin look clearer and my skin as a whole feels smoother after using this product. It also doesn’t seem to dry me out. I’ve used this mask multiple days in a row and it hasn’t made my skin seem dry or damaged at all. I definitely plan on purchasing the full size version of this product when I’ve used this deluxe sample all up.

What are some of your favorite face masks?

Caolion Hot & Cold Pore Pack

If you know me at all, you know that I am obsessed with face masks. They are just the best way to see instant results for your skincare needs! I recently had the chance to try the Caolion Hot and Cool Pore Pack Duo. This face mask duo can be purchased from Amazon for $28. It is a K-Beauty product that focuses on deep cleansing your pores and removing blackheads.

I was initially concerned that doing two face masks back-to-back would be too much for my skin and would cause rebellious breakouts or redness, but thankfully that did not happen! I started with step one which is the steam pore back. I put it on my skin, and I could definitely feel the heat, but it didn’t sting and did not feel unpleasant. Afterwards, I washed it off my face and proceeded to step two: the original pack which provides a chilling effect. Honestly, the second step felt much less pleasant and the chilling sensation kind of stung. Still, I persevered and left it on my skin the recommended amount of time.

Once I washed step two off of my face, the results were obvious. My skin was so incredibly smooth! Later that day when I put on my makeup, it just glided on so effortlessly. Also, these results lasted for about two or three days. I was really impressed at how clean my skin felt and how smooth everything looked. I would absolutely recommend this product to skincare junkies, especially those who don’t mind the mildly painful feeling of the second mask.

Have you tried this product, or is there a different face mask that you absolutely love? Let me know in the comments section!

Skincare

Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Clay Mask

I’ve been very open about my love for Dr. Jart+ products, and I was thrilled to find the Trans-Foam Clay Trio of masks at Sephora for $35. Face masks are my favorite skincare luxury, and since other Dr. Jart+ products (like this tinted moisturizer) have worked really well for my skin, I was so excited to give these a try.

This trio has three colors: Calming White, Moisturizing Pink, and Refreshing Green. The clays are tinted in each color. They’re easy to apply, and then you just wait for them to harden a bit and wash them off. When you wash them off, they’re supposed to transform into foam and wash away easily. While they do wash away just fine, I have yet to encounter to this alleged foam phenomenon.

Overall, I have been incredibly disappointed in this product. I’ve tried all three multiple times, and I just don’t see any difference in my skin at all. First, all three clays seem exactly the same, except for their color. My skin does not feel softer afterwards. It is not noticeably moisturized. It hasn’t made me break out at all, but it also just hasn’t helped with anything either.

I still love Dr. Jart+ and I look forward to trying some of their other products, but this one was a dud for me. Has anyone else had any experience with this product? What did you think?

Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist Mask

It’s not secret that Dr. Jart+ is one of my favorite brands at Sephora. Their skincare products are innovative and work really well, and they use very natural ingredients that don’t irritate my somewhat sensitive skin. I recently tried the Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist Black Charcoal Sheet Mask which can be purchased from Sephora for $7.50.

This was a very easy-to-apply sheet mask (as most sheet masks are). There’s no cleanup necessary because the product is clear even though the mask is black. This mask is supposed to be a great product for acne-prone skin, and I used it when my hormonal acne was flaring up right before my period. I will say that my zits didn’t magically disappear, but I did think they looked less red and less noticeable. My overall skin felt much smoother afterwards, and it continued feeling more moisturized for a few days.

I think this is a great little treat for the skin, and I’m looking forward to reviewing more of these masks. I tend to prefer cream mask products over sheet masks (I feel like the creams sink deeper in the pores and give more immediate results), but this one definitely blew away the Sephora brand masks.

Skincare

Sephora Algae Face Mask

I do think that the perfect way to wind down after a stressful day is a bubble mask and a face mask. There’s something calming about both of these things. I recently have tried a lot of sheet masks, and one I was excited to try was the Sephora Algae Face Mask.

The goal of this face mask is to purify and detoxify the skin with algae. It can be purchased from Sephora for $6, which is an average price for a one-time-use sheet mask.

I think that if your goal is to just relax and unwind, this is a nice face mask option. It’s inexpensive enough to not make you feel guilty, but the act of putting on the sheet mask and unwinding can still make you feel pampered. However, if your goal is to actually purify and detoxify your skin, this isn’t your best bet. I’ve yet to use a Sephora brand sheet mask that did a whole lot for my skin besides possibly making it feel a teeny bit more moisturized.

So, essentially, I think this product is a fun addition for an at-home spa day, but it’s certainly not going to become a staple in anyone’s skincare routine. If you’re looking for actual skincare results, I would suggest the brands SK-II or Dr. Jart + instead.
