Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask

I’m such a sucker for a face mask. They feel luxurious, but they also pack a powerful punch of skincare benefits in one concentrated treatment. Recently, I tried the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask. This product retails at Sephora for $62 (with a mini version available for $25).

I loved this mask! According to its product description, it’s supposed to help with: dullness, rough texture, uneven tone, dryness, and congestion. I can honestly say that it does what it claims. Using this mask a few times a week has definitely improved the overall state of my skin. My acne was reduced and my skin looked smoother for sure! It’s definitely worth the price. It’s also packed with some great skincare ingredients like seaweed, red algae, and lotus flower. I can’t believe that a mask so gentle on the skin can give such great results too. I highly recommend this one!

Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask

It’s no secret that I love a face mask. I’ve probably blogged about face masks 100 times by now, but I have yet another one that I want to share: the Hello FAB Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask from First Aid Beauty. This mask is $32 at Sephora and similar retailers.

This mask is so good for acne-prone skin! I feel like my skin always looks clearer and brighter after using this mask. The ingredients of ginger and turmeric really invigorate the skin and clean deep too. I’ve also noticed some improvement of my overall skin texture, which is really exciting. The goal has always been to have smoother skin!

I love that this mask also works for sensitive skin. It’s a great everyday mask and you can really leave it on as long as you’d like. The jelly is easy to wash off and never really dries down. But it’s also very gentle on the skin.

I highly recommend this one! I also think it’s worth noting that this product is vegan and gluten-free.

Boscia Luminizing Pink Mask

Boscia is known for their luminizing black mask that can be peeled-off, but now they have a limited edition Boscia Luminizing Pink Mask. That’s right – this iconic mask now comes in pink!! It retails at Sephora for $34 (although it’s currently on sale for $22!)

This mask performs the same way as the black version. It dries down and enables you to peel it off when you’re ready. It can sting a bit when you rip it off, but the results are so worth it! While I wouldn’t say that my skin looks “luminized” afterwards, I have noticed that my acne responds so well to this product. When I have a zit, I use this mask as a spot treatment, and it always looks noticeably reduced the next day.

Charcoal is the ingredient in this mask that really packs a powerful punch. It cleanses and deep-cleans your pores and will definitely help acne-prone skin. I have noticed that when I use it as an all-over mask instead of just a spot-treatment, my skin is much smoother too. This is the superhero of masks!

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a face mask. They always make me feel so pampered, and I love trying new ones! Recently, I tried the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask which retails for $39 from Sephora and similar retailers.

I have to admit that I’ve already used up my entire deluxe sample because I LOVED this one! This variation of a mud mask is so awesome. It’s good for sensitive, oily, and dry skin because it’s very gentle and doesn’t really impact your PH balance. Rather, it just gently removes toxins from your pores by drawing them out with the mud. Your skin will feel softer afterwards, but it won’t feel dry or even more moisturized. This is a really great mask for people like me who have acne, and I definitely noticed an improvement in my skin with this product.

The main ingredient in this one is pink clay (the mud feature) but it also has some other ingredients that are great for clearer skin like coffee, grape extract, and papaya enzymes. It’s filled with skincare goodness, and your skin will thank you for using this one! I really have to pick up more next time I put in a Sephora order because I miss it. It’s gentle enough to even use daily, which lets you feel constantly pampered.

What is your favorite mask? Please, let me know in the comment section because you know I’m always looking for another one!

Fresh Rose Face Mask

I love face masks. They contain a higher concentration of active ingredients, so often you can get skin care results faster when you use a mask. A lot of my masks are for acne, but my skin has felt a bit dry lately, so I wanted to try one that was more moisturizing. Thankfully, I just received a sample of the Fresh Rose Face Mask. The full-size container of this product can be purchased from Sephora and similar retailers for $62.

First, this face mask smells absolutely amazing. It smells like real rose instead of synthetic rose (which helps its assertion that it’s using real roses). It also is really great for sensitive skin. Whenever I use this mask, my skin feels instantly soothed, so it’s a great mask to use when some irritation has cropped up. Lastly, the hydration claims are really true. My skin feels hydrated and soft after using this mask, but it doesn’t look so hydrated that my face appears oily or anything.

Overall, I’ve been really pleased with this mask. It reminds me a lot of the Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Mask, although this one smells a lot better. I definitely recommend this one!

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask

If you’re looking for a more natural skincare brand at Sephora, one of the best is Origins. I’ve tried a lot of their products and  I’ve liked most of them. I’m definitely a sucker for face masks, so I was excited to try the Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. A 3.4 oz container of this product costs $27 at Sephora and similar retailers.

I find that my acne-prone skin typically responds well to charcoal, but I ended up not really liking this one. It felt fine on the skin and the scent was not overpowering or bad. It smelled faintly like charcoal, but mostly it didn’t smell like anything. It doesn’t dry down completely, but it does dry a little. It’s still pretty easy to wash off afterwards. I left this mask on for about 20 minutes, and I didn’t experience any burning or skin irritation.

Afterwards, my skin felt clean and more pores felt clearer. Unfortunately, the next morning, I woke up with lots of new blemishes. Each time I tried this mask, the same thing happened. I do understand that there is a chance that the mask is pulling out toxins, but there are plenty of masks on the market that don’t make my skin worse before making it better.

I have to give this one a pass because of the after effects on my skin. I was disappointed since I usually respond so well to charcoal.

Sephora Pearl Mask

It’s time for another mask review! I still adore face masks of all types, so I thought it was time to review another one. This time, I’ll be discussing the Sephora Pearl Mask which is a one-time-use sheet mask that is available from Sephora for only $6.

I thought this was a fun sheet mask that would make a great addition to a casual at-home spa day, but it’s definitely not a skincare miracle by any means. It claims to perfect and brighten complexion, but it doesn’t really do a whole lot besides maybe moisturize a little bit. It also smells really nice. It’s slightly floral but the scent is not at all overpowering. Overall, I would suggest this one if you’re just looking for an inexpensive luxury, but be warned that this will not do much more than moisturize.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask

My obsession with face masks continues as I try to find the perfect one to clear up my skin without causing dryness. Recently, I decided to try the cult favorite GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask which can be purchased from Sephora for $69 per 1.7 oz container.

I definitely like this mask, but I just don’t think that the payoff ends up justifying the price. I bought the trial sized version which is $25 for a small 0.5 oz container, and I’m so glad I got the small version instead of the full-priced $69 container. I do think that this mask helped my skin a little bit – my skin seemed a little clearer the next morning. However, my skin also felt pretty dry afterwards. I liked that there were some exfoliating properties, which did leave parts my skin looking and feeling smoother, but I also ended up getting some dry patches of skin on my cheeks after using this product.

Overall, this is a pretty good mask for acne-prone skin, but it’s not the best (which is Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask in my opinion). It’s also just ridiculously expensive for the amount of product you receive. This might be a fun one-time splurge, but I don’t think it’s really a staple that I’ll ever need to repurchase.

What are some of the most expensive masks you’ve tried? Were they worth the price tag or just overhyped? Please, let me know in the comments section!

Tonymoly Hydrating Lotus Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are a fun way to relax at the end of a hard day. They provide lots of skincare benefits, but they tend to be very gentle on the skin. Recently, I tried this adorable Pokemon-themed sheet mask: the Tonymoly Lotus Hydrating Sheet Mask. You can get this sheet mask for about $5 at Walmart and similar retailers.

First off, I really liked this sheet mask because it actually made my skin feel incredibly moisturized. It had a very soothing quality and left my skin looking more supple and feeling more hydrated. Anyone with dry skin will definitely love this one!

There were two drawbacks though. First, it was kind of hard to unfold this mask and apply it because it was so slippery and wet. Secondly, also in relation to the wetness, I found that this mask dripped a lot which is not something I’m used to with sheet masks. I didn’t mind that it dripped from my chin to my chest, but it was irritating how it dripped in my nose area. I felt like I was inhaling it, and I kept trying to brush it away from this area. I’m not sure why there was so much product saturating this mask. I haven’t noticed this in other Tonymoly masks that I’ve used.

Have you used this one? What’s your favorite sheet mask? Please, let me know in the comment section!

Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask

I feel like I take pretty good care of the skin underneath my eyes. I’ve been using undereye cream since I was 16, and I try to be very gentle with the skin around that area. Still, I was excited when I received the Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask which comes with two fiber patches to place underneath the eyes in order to relax and refresh the skin. This one-time use mask can be purchased from Sephora for $5.

I was surprised at how easy this product was to use. I was afraid that the small fiber patches would slide around or fall off, but they really stayed in place. I was able to move about and sit up and watch TV with these patches underneath my eyes. After about 20 minutes, I decided to remove them. I rubbed the excess product into the skin. I can’t say that anything dramatic seemed to happen for my skin. It maybe seemed a bit more moisturized but no brighter than before. I don’t tend to have puffy undereyes, but I could see how this formula would be able to help with that.

Overall, this was a fun little product because it felt luxurious to have a specific mask for under the eyes. Still, I don’t think it really did anything, so I’m not sure I can recommend it as anything other than a novelty.

Have you tried an undereye mask? What did you think?
