Blogmas Day 24: Sephora Cream Lip Stain

Welcome to the very last day of Blogmas: Day 24! It’s Christmas Eve! I hope everyone is just as excited as I am for Christmas. I can’t believe it’s almost over though. I feel like every year it comes faster and faster. Anyway, I opened my final Sephora Advent Calendar Panel and I received a full-sized Sephora Cream Lip Stain in this very pretty red shade. This product can be purchased for $14 (but only in a peach shade since all other shades have been discontinued).

I can see why these were discontinued. They dry out the lips just as bad as any other lip stain, but they also never really dry down so they smudge terribly and don’t actually last all that long. I do find the shade pretty, but it’s so messy that I found it nearly impossible to apply.

Overall, this advent calendar was a big bust! It made me feel really disappointed in Sephora because I feel like they could have done a much better job really easily. If you’re selling it in the US, then include products you can purchase in the US. Also, the amount of discontinued products made me feel like I was essentially receiving Sephora’s leftovers that they wanted to clean out of their warehouse instead of just throwing them away. There’s no way I’ll be purchasing this again next year unless there is a substantial change in quality.

Thanks so much for sticking with these Blogmas blogs! I hope everyone has a really Lovely Christmas! I’ll be back with another blog post on Wednesday.

Thanks for reading!

Blogmas Day 11: Lip Liner to Go

Welcome to Day 11 of Blogmas! I can’t believe that Christmas is only two weeks away! Today’s advent calendar panel finally revealed something that  US Sephora users can buy too: the Sephora Lip Liner to Go. These tiny, portable lip liners can be purchased for $6.

I’ll admit that I don’t typically use or like lip liners, but I’m glad that I have this one now. I think that red is the one color that often requires lip liner because it bleeds more than other colors in my experience. So, I’m glad this one is red! Also, it works really well. It’s easy to apply and lasts a very long time. I would prefer if it was just a bit creamier, but this is still a pretty good one at a very convenient size!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipgloss

Urban Decay is an awesome brand. They have quality products for reasonable prices, and everything has such great pigmentation. However, they have a tendency to scrap great products and introduce new things in their place, which makes it hard to get attached. Still, that also means that sometimes you can get great deals on their products! Right now, you can get the Urban Decay Revolution Lipgloss from Sephora for only $11.

I went with the shade Scandal (seen above) which is a really dramatic pink. I think it’s really fun and gorgeous. The texture of the gloss is only a little sticky, which I think is a victory for any lipgloss. I will admit that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to, and I do find myself having to reapply every few hours. Still, the pigmentation and texture are great, and I’m sad that they’re getting rid of these. Hopefully, something just as awesome will replace them. In the meantime, don’t delay! Get these for half-price before Sephora sells out and they’re gone forever!

The World’s BEST Lip Balm

Recently, I was going through my lip products to see what I wanted to keep, what I wanted to give away, and what was just too old and needed to be tossed. As I was going through my (very hefty) lip bag, I came across this gem that I had somehow completely forgotten about: Minted Rose Lip Balm from Rosebud Perfume Co.

minted rose lip balm

This balm, available from Sephora, is only $7. I have purchased so many of these tins over the years, but I guess I’ve been using so many from L’Occitane this past year that it got shoved aside for far too long.

This minted rose balm has such a light, beautiful rose scent. It tints my lips ever so subtly. A teeny bit can go a very long way – when I used this every single day at least once a day, I only had to repurchase yearly. I don’t believe there is a case of lip chapping severe enough that this product can’t cure it. It’s just the best, and the moisturizing effect is long-lasting. When I apply this in the morning in lieu of other lip products, I won’t have to reapply until after I’ve eaten a meal, and even then, my lips are still feeling softer and more moisturized. When I apply a thicker coat before bed, my lips still feel great in the morning.

So, should you but it?

Pros: $7 for a lip balm that will last you a year is actually a great deal. This balm delivers all the moisture anyone could desire. The rose scent is so light and refreshing that even people who dislike rose scents probably wouldn’t be bothered by it because it is so subtle.

Cons: Some may not the cool, tingly feeling that accompanies this product. Also, some people are averse to products that come in tins instead of tubes. There is a tube version of this balm, but I have used it and I did not find the texture to be the same and the results seemed a bit less moisturizing and long-lasting.

Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this product. Now that I’ve rediscovered this product, I essentially want to give away all my other lip balms and salves. This is the holy grail of lip balms!
