Sephora has sales twice a year – in April and November. As a Rouge member, I get 15% off in April and 20% off in November, so those are the months that I stock up on skincare and more.

Rouge members use the code “yayrouge” for 15% off during April 13-16 and April 20-23.

VIB members use the code “yayvib” for 15% off during April 20-23.

Beauty Insider members (anyone can sign up to be a Beauty Insider member – this tier is completely free to join and is not based on past purchases) use the code “yayinsider” for 10% off during April 20-23.

When making online purchases, be sure to use the codes at checkout.

I’ve already made my purchases, since Rouge members get a few early dates, and here’s what I purchased:

The Bare Minerals bareSkin Perfecting Veil Finishing Powder – I’ve been a bit oilier lately and my acne’s been worse, so I needed a pressed powder which I feel is easier to layer over problem skin than loose powder.

Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer – Again, with the acne I need something heavy-duty to help cover up.

Sunday Riley The Influencer Clean Long Wear Foundation – This brand has a major cult following and I’ve been so excited to try this new foundation!

Dior Addict Lip Lacquer – I’m obsessed with Dior lip products, so I have to try all their new ones! And this one has major glitter…

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask – This is an amazing, gentle mask that can be used every day and is fantastic for acne. You can read my full review here.

Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask – This mask is also amazing for acne. I initially didn’t love it because of the smell, but I was won over by how it helped my skin. You can read my full review here.

Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow

Recently, I’ve been going for a more neutral eye look because I’ve been doing a bolder lip. I’m typically a powder shadow type of person, but recently I was given the opportunity to try the Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow which is a cream shadow. This product can be purchased from Sephora for $25.

I really love the shade of this one. The one I have is “I-50 Iridescent Warm Beige.” It has a lightly shimmery finish which is really pretty but subtle. These also come in a satin or a matte finish, but I love the shimmer.

These are pretty easy to apply. I typically just use my finger, although you have to work fast because they dry down pretty quickly. Like most cream shadows, they can crease throughout the day, but they won’t if you just use a primer before application.

I don’t know if I like this well enough to buy the full-size product when my sample runs out, but I’ll definitely be using the rest of the sample. It’s a nice neutral eye for minimal makeup days or when you just want to play up your lips instead of your eyes.

Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara

To be completely honest, I’m not super picky when it comes to mascara. I find that most of them get the job done, although some do stand out more than others. Recently, however, I had the opportunity to try the Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Arresting Mascara which can be purchased from Sephora and similar retailers for $25.

The first notable thing about this mascara is that it really coats the lashes well. It only comes in one shade – black – but it’s a really great shade of black. My lashes look instantly darkened with a lot more volume. I have pretty long but thin eyelashes, and I do think this makes them look better.

However, this mascara is also really hard to remove, even with my fave Clinique Take the Day Off Balm. I feel like I kind of have to scrub to get it all off, and I don’t really want to treat my lashes and the delicate skin around my eyes so harshly.

Finally, I don’t love how this wears throughout the day. Even though it’s hard to get off, it also tends to migrate. By the end of the day, I resemble a raccoon more than is ideal. It never feels completely dry and does get kind of messy around the eye.

Overall, even though I adore this brand, I just wouldn’t recommend this mascara. The cons definitely outweigh the pros for this product.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

Recently, I haven’t been super happy with my skin. I’ve been breaking out more than usual, and I don’t know if it’s hormones or stress or eating too much junk food or what. While I pinpoint the issue, I’ve been struggling to conceal my acne. Recently, I received a deluxe sample of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. This product can be purchased from Sephora for $43.

The timing of this sample was perfect since I like to judge foundation against flawed skin instead of when my skin is at its best. This way, I can see if it can handle me at my worst. Thankfully, I received the shade Ivory which ended up being perfect for my skin tone. I applied this with a wet beauty blender and watched it work its magic. This sank into my skin so effortlessly and required very little blending. The results were absolutely fantastic! So many of my flaws seemed completely erased (some acne, redness, dullness, etc) but it didn’t at all look like I was wearing foundation. The finish looked so nice that some days I didn’t even apply a finishing powder on top because it already looked so perfect. Now, this is definitely a medium-coverage foundation so I did still need a bit of concealer on my worst zits, but this is definitely a contender for becoming my favorite foundation! Also, I had enough in the sample bottle to wear it for about two weeks, and it didn’t seem to cause any additional acne. Between their great primers and this product, Make Up For Ever if quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. I highly recommend this one. I would say the results are even better than my previous top picks of Lancome Ideal Teint Foundation and the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?
