Zoella Blissful Mistful Solid Fragrance

So, full disclosure: Zoella (AKA Zoe Sugg) is my favorite Youtuber. I love her channel and I think she’s so inspirational. When I saw her products in Target, I got super excited and I just had to try something, so I bought the Zoella Blissful Mistful Solid Fragrance. This product can be purchased at Target for $6.

This solid perfume has a very light, floral scent that I really liked when I smelled it in the tin. Unfortunately, it didn’t really react well to my body chemistry and ended up smelling kind of sour on me. I’m not sure if that’s the best way to describe it, but basically it just smelled strange on me but smelled nice in the tin. That was disappointing, but it’s not really the product’s fault. Fragrance is all about chemistry, and since everyone’s body is just a little bit different, it can be hard to predict how one person will react to a fragrance. I do think that it’s worth a try for others, and I hope to find someone I can give my tin to who can appreciate the fragrance.

I definitely want to try a different Zoella product since this one didn’t work out. Do any of you have any suggestions for some of her products that you have loved? Maybe a bath-themed one?

Miss Dior Moisturizing Body Milk

Perfumes are so personal – scents can exude how we’re feeling or how we want to feel. Everyone looks for different things when it comes to scent, but I wanted to share my current favorite scented product: Miss Dior Moisturizing Body Milk. A 6.8 oz bottle can be purchased from Sephora for $52.

This scent makes me feel so feminine and happy. It’s sensual and has notes of Italian mandarin, rose, and patchouli. Overall, the scent is very floral, which I love. I decided to go with the lotion because I feel like scents last longer on my skin when they’re applied in lotion form instead of a traditional perfume or body spray.

While this product is marketed as being very moisturizing, I don’t try to use this as a daily body lotion. I’m afraid that the scent would be overwhelming if you applied it everywhere, and it really isn’t the most moisturizing lotion out there. Rather, I find it best to put on a scentless body lotion everywhere (like Bliss Naked Body Butter), and then follow that up with this lotion just on your pulse points (behind the ears, the inside of your elbows, between the cleavage, and on your wrists). When I do that, the scent seems to last all day long!

What scents are you currently loving? Do you have a signature scent, or do you like to change it up?

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum

I am so picky when it comes to scents. I know that fragrance is a really personal topic and it really all boils down to preference, but I just wanted to share my excitement over finally fining a fragrance that hasn’t yet bored me! I have discovered that I love Miss Dior Eau de Parfum.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the most budget-friendly scent. A one ounce bottle will set you back about $74. However, I think that I want this to become my new signature scent. My whole life, I’ve been obsessed with finding a signature scent. Fragrance memories are very powerful – how often do you smell a flower or food and feel transported back into a wonderful part of your past? I’ve always thought that having a signature scent might make me more memorable. In high school, my signature scent was Lucky You. It is very floral but fresh, and it made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. Then in college, I upgraded my signature scent to Gucci Guilty. This is the scent that made me feel like an adult. It’s a bold scent that made me feel more confident. I would wear it before meetings at works or workshops in school.

Now, I’m finding myself in a new place in life, and I feel like Miss Dior suits me better. It is both floral and fruity, and it’s strongest note is jasmine. It is a good blend of youth and maturity, and it does not smell musky or overly sugary. The smell evokes in me what I’m already feeling about myself. Instead of masking my insecurity with a fragrance that tricked me into feeling more confident, I can now just be myself.
