Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue

I love lip products! There’s just something about putting color on the lips that makes a makeup look feel put together. Recently, I obtained the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in the shade Nude. This product can be purchased from Sephora for $19.

This one is quickly becoming one of my favorite lip products. It glides on so easily and covers the lips with a  sheer wash of color. It definitely helps lips to feel more moisturized and nourished. Long after the color has faded, the lips feel softer and healthier. The color doesn’t last a terribly long time, but that’s the trade off of having a nourishing formula. I definitely don’t mind reapplying this one throughout the day because it also has this amazing minty smell that I love.

Overall, I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a moisturizing lipstick with just a touch of color. I would love to purchase more shades of this one, especially the shades Rose and Cherry. Tarte is also one of the more natural brands at Sephora, so I always love when I find one of their products that I love because I know it isn’t filled with tons of chemicals.

Have any of you tried this one or any other Tarte lipsticks? Please, let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer

I’m always trying to find the best concealers to use on my skin. I have some redness, some acne, and dark undereye circles, so concealer is absolutely essential in my makeup routine. I recently tried another one from Sephora: the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer.  This is a pretty large bottle of concealer that comes with an equally hefty doefoot applicator, and it can be purchased for $26.

Tarte is a great brand when it comes to acne-prone skin because the products are pretty natural and use a very minimal amount of chemicals. It is definitely a full-coverage liquid concealer, and it seems to blend best with a damp beauty blender instead of a concealer brush. Tarte also sells 12 different shades of this product, which is great versatility for various skin tones!

I’ve been really happy with this concealer, but it’s definitely not perfect. It has a great amount of coverage, but it doesn’t have the lasting power that I want for my most stubborn flaws. Even with a setting powder, it doesn’t seem to last throughout the entire day. Also, the formulation is great for zits and redness, but it definitely doesn’t work underneath my eyes. It’s too thick for that delicate skin area and tends to just sort of sit in the fine lines underneath my eyes, which is not a great look!

While I’ve been liking it, and I’ll definitely use it until I run out, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this one. It’s worked well, but I feel like there has to be better concealers out there.

Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant

I will admit that I have a fear of most products that exfoliate because I’m always afraid that I’m somehow going to get a granule of something lodged in one of my eyes. It’s a weird phobia, but it’s mine and I’m not sure if I’m ever going to get over it. Still, I occasionally find a product I want to try anyway. The latest has been Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant.

This product can be purchased from Sephora for $16. It comes in a purple tin with beautiful gold embellishments, and this product is sure to last for a very long time. A little bit goes a long way.

Overall, this product does a great job. It contains raw sugar to exfoliate the lips and oil to soften and moisturize the lips. My lips did feel noticeably softer each time that I used this product, and I loved the minty scent that made me feel fresh afterwards. Of all the lip exfoliators that I have ever tried, this has been my favorite so far, and $16 is also a great price for such a product.

Still, I’m not over my weird irrational fear of exfoliating products, so I will admit that I have given this away to a friend who loves Tarte. It may not feel as fresh or be as easy, but I do think that it’s okay to exfoliate lips with rubbing a damp washcloth over them and then finishing up with your favorite lip balm. That’s what I’ve gone back to doing.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush

As you can tell from the picture below, I really love Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush.

These are available from Sephora for $28 a piece, which is a great price for blush, especially if you’re used to brands such as NARs. While these don’t have the same ideal finish as some of the higher-end brands, these Tarte blushes have great buildable color and are very long-lasting.

These come in a variety of shades, so there is sure to be the perfect one for every skin tone. Some are very matte and some have a bit of shimmer. I think the finish of the shimmery ones is a bit better than the matte ones which can look a little harsh if applied with a heavier hand. Still, these are very blendable and buildable, and I think these are great blushes, especially for the price.

Tarte is also a great brand for those looking for a more natural alternative. Tarte uses very natural ingredients, and these are great options for people who have very sensitive skin.

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint

During the Sephora semi-annual sale, I cashed in 100 beauty rewards points for a deluxe sample of the new Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara from Tarte.

So much product!

I was initially afraid to try this product out because so much mascara appeared on the wand, but this formulation was great and did not result in any clumps or those weird spidery lashes. It’s also $23 (the full-size version) which is pretty standard for most mascaras at Sephora.

Pros: Like a great bra, this mascara lifts and separates. It provides amazing definition and coats lashes with dark drama. It doesn’t curl lashes when used alone, but it pairs really well with an eyelash curler. It keep the curl pretty well and lengthens the lashes too which makes the curl extra spectacular.

Cons: I only use black mascara, but my blonde friends looking for a brown mascara will be disappointed since this one only comes in black.

Overall, I think this is a great mascara. It provides way more definition than my go-to Diorshow. Some have said that this is too similar to the original bestselling Tarte mascara Light, Camera, Lashes, but I think this provides way more separation (because this brush is spikier) and keeps the curl better. I think I’ll be purchasing the full-size of this product once I’m ready for another purchase.
